There is a new Microsoft Edge, based on Chromium

A new version of Microsoft’s Edge browser, based on Chromium, has appeared on the web. The first look at this preliminary version of the upcoming Internet browser makes it clear that it is almost a copy of Chrome.

Despite the fact that Microsoft is not particularly spread about its development, the Microsoft Edge Insider build fused into the Web gives users an idea of what to expect in the future.

Experts, who have already managed to “touch” the new version of Edge, argue that the browser can give serious competition to the market leader Google Chrome.

Many fear the transition to Chromium for the reason that it will provide additional control over users in the hands of Google, but in fact it can have exactly the opposite effect.

It is believed that the new version of Microsoft Edge, having the same functions, as well as providing access to the full set of extensions for Chrome, may well entice many users of the usual Google browser.

This is what will allow Microsoft to take a stronger position on desktop computers, as the corporation will be able to directly influence the development of the browser and the introduction of new web standards.

This version of Edge is based on Chromium 75, itself has an assembly number – 75.0.107.0. When you first start the browser prompts you to import history, auto-fill fields and bookmarks from Chrome.
