Tyos Virus Removal Guide (+Decrypt .tyos files)

Tyos – General Info

Tyos is a malicious software application working as common ransomware. Michael Gillespie, the well-known malware researcher, first found this new name in the DJVU ransomware family.

Tyos was developed for the sole purpose to encrypt all popular file types. Realistically, as quickly as the file encryption is successfully accomplished, the users are unable to get access to them. Tyos ransomware includes its own “.tyos” to all the encrypted data. For instance, the file “price_list.xls”, as soon as crypted by Tyos, will be titled as “price_list.xls.tyos”. When the file encryption is achieved, Tyos puts its own special text document (_readme.txt) into all the folders that store the encrypted files.

The alert mentioned by _readme.txt asking for the random os very similar to the notices provided by other ransomware threats coming from the DJVU family. The warning generally indicates that the files have been encrypted and the only solution to get access to it is to use an unique standalone key. Regretfully, this statement is absolutely true.

The method to encrypt the files used by Tyos is not totally researched. Nevertheless, there is no doubt that each computer system owner might be issued a special decryption key, which is absolutely distinct. It is exceptionally hard to recuperate the data without the proper type in place.

“Don’t worry, you can return all your files!”, from text file message:

message from Tyos virus

One more peculiarity of the Tyos infection is that the users are unable to get access to the key. The decrypting key is hosted on an unique server under the complete control by the crooks who have introduced the Tyos virus into the web. In order to acquire the key and bring back the important data, the users are told to connect with the scams through email or by telegram and to pay the ransom in the quantity of $980.

The message likewise says that individuals should call the Tyos authors within 72 hours upon the minute of the data file encryption. The alert indicates that by doing so the people will get a 50% discount rate, for that reason, the ransom amount drops down to $490.

No matter what the amount of the ransom is, we highly advise that you do not pay the ransom. There is no assurance that these online criminals will keep their guarantees, so they might not care at all what the victims feel about the file encryption, even when the quantity of the ransom is gotten into their accounts. Hence, paying ransom frequently does not result in an effective healing. So, the users might merely lose their money for absolutely nothing.

Likewise, we prompt you not to contact the scams as they instruct. Do not transfer money into their wallets. There are no applications that could break the Tyos ransomware or restore the information for free. Therefore, the only appropriate decision is to bring back the information from possible backups (if offered).
