US noted its allies that Huawei received financial donations from Chinese intelligence.
US authorities allegedly found another evidence of bonds between Huawei and Chinese government.As writes The Times, CIA warned British intelligence that Huawei was financed by Chinese special services. According to periodical, PRC National commission on security, People’s liberation army and one of the departments of intelligence service sponsored this company. CIA notified allies from “Five Eyes” alliance that includes US, Great Britain, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
Washington urges its military allies to refuse from exploitation of Huawei equipment due to possible presence of marks and chips in them. In particular, American authorities ask not to use products of this Chinese company while building of 5G networks.
The US accusation was based on the assumption that Huawei would have “no choice but to comply with demands of the Chinese government,” but this time the CIA provides evidence: its funding. Again, Huawei responded by saying that the accusation is backed up by “zero evidence from anonymous sources.”
Decision about permission for Huawei to construct new networks in United Kingdom will be made in the next months.
Nevertheless, by far not all the states are ready to follow American authorities’ urge. For instance, Germany and France propose not to refuse from cooperation with Huawei but to tighten requirements for data transition networks.
