The operator of an online store selling stolen bank cards sentenced to 7.5 years in prison

US Ministry of Justice reported that 32-year old Macedonian citizen Djevair Ametovski, former operator of trading platform Codeshop, was arrested and sentenced to 90 months in prison.

Ametovski, famous in the Net under the nicks codeshop, xhevo, sindrom and sindromx, was arrested by Slovenian authorities in 2014 and extradited to US in 2016. Ametovski was operator of marketplace Codeshop that was dedicated to carders. Codeshop operators bought information from hackers and fishers, systematized and organized it and put up for sale. Intruders that bought this information used it for ordering expensive items online or simply cashed out money in ATMs.

According to American police, this activity injured hundreds of thousands of people around the world while Ametovski personally earned on sales of stolen cards details $1.3 million. For their operations criminals used online network of exchange points and anonymous digital currencies, including bitcoin.

Finally, Ametovski confessed in fraud with the use of access tools and in the steal of personal data with aggravating circumstances.

Federal court in Brooklyn sentenced former Codeshop operator to 90 months in prison and fine of $250 000. Moreover, Ametovski will have to restore damage to victims and its size will be established later.
