Chinese woman carrying thumb drive with malware arrested at Trump’s private resort

The US Secret Service last week detained a Chinese citizen who managed to penetrate the beloved private resort of American President Donald Trump – this place is known as Mar-a-Lago. When a detainee was found, a USB drive containing a malicious program was detected.

According to the indictment, 32-year-old Yujing Zhang was detained on March 30. At the time of her arrest, Donald Trump was present in Mar-a-Lago, but did not meet Zhang and did not interact with her in any way.

Based on court documents, Ms. Zhang entered the resort after she managed to mislead the United States Secret Service agent and hotel employee.

Because of the language barrier, the agent and the employee could not identify the defendant. The hotel clerk decided to skip Zhang, as he eventually took her for another Asian person who was a frequent visitor to Mar-a-Lago.

The US Secret Service claims that Zhang, having entered the resort, wanted to look around and take pictures of the environment. The detainee herself claimed that she had been invited to Mar-a-Lago by a friend named Charles.

Charles urged Zhang to speak with someone from the presidential family regarding the economic relations between China and the United States.

In the end, it turned out that Zhang artificially created a language barrier, actually speaking English at a fairly acceptable level. The detainee also openly lied to Secret Service agents regarding the purpose of her visit.

When they found themselves, Zhang found two passports, four phones and a flash drive that contained a malicious program.
