Apple threatens to remove iPhone apps caught recording user activity

Apple has delivered an ultimatum to application developers who are hiding the screens of device owners on iOS. Now, developers must either reveal part of this code to users, or completely remove it from applications. If none of these requirements are met, the corporation has promised to remove all these programs from the official App Store.

Apple also clarified that the rules for placing apps on the App Store prohibit such behavior. In the extreme case, if a developer implements such functions, he must notify the users and get their consent.

“Protecting user privacy is paramount to the Apple ecosystem. The rules of the App Store require that applications make the user clearly aware of how they have functions, ” — said an Apple spokesman.

“If something is recorded, it is recorded – the user must certainly know about it. We have already notified the developers of these questionable applications. We are also ready to take the most stringent measures if the confidentiality of our users will be further violated. ”

Recently the researchers found several popular applications for the iPhone, which secretly record actions on the smartphone screen, without even asking users. The situation is aggravated by the fact that many of these applications can inadvertently disclose confidential information.
