Cybercriminals got access to personal data of thousands police and FBI employees

Hackers have stolen personal data of about 4 000 American federal agents and police servicemen and uploaded it on the Internet. About incident reports TechCrunch.

According to the source, criminals managed to hack at least three websites, connected with Association of National FBI academy in Quantico, Virginia. Published on their own website personal data contains names of Association members, home addresses, phone numbers and emails.

As one of hackers that allegedly participated in attack reported to TechCrunch, criminal group consists of about 10 members. He said that hacking websites was possible because of vulnerabilities; in particular, many of websites were not updated for a long time or used outdated plugins.

Interlocutor also noted that same groups hacked more than one thousand of US governmental institutions’ websites. Recently intruders structure and categorize data for further sales.

“Now we are structuring all the data, and soon they will be sold. I think something else will publish from the list of hacked government sites.”, – hacker said

Association of FBI academy did not comment this incident.
